A few weeks ago, we reported that the Panerai Luminor "Pre-Vendôme" 5218-201A worn by Stallone in 1996's Daylight would be hitting the block as part of the Phillips New York "Racing Pulse" auction.
One of these references was the 5218-201a, a Panerai Luminor in a 44mm steel case, designed by Guenat SA Montres Valgine (which would then become widely known as the "Bettarini case"). It featured integrated lugs and the iconic crown-protection mechanism, ensuring water resistance up to 30 ATM (300 meters / 1,000 feet).The Panerai 5218-201/a has been offered exactly as it was first worn by Mr. Stallone, along with its original mahogany box, two additional Panerai straps with sewn-in buckles, and its original brass screwdriver.
